Seminole County Public Schools implements BarControl Enterprise Manager
Seminole County Public Schools “SCPS”, located north of Orlando, FL was looking for a way to trim expenses on student and operational supplies at across it’s many schools. The decision was made to go centralized, take advantage of bulk purchasing and deliver supplies from one central location in controlled quantities.
The solution for SCPS was BarControl Enterprise Manager configured to meet their needs. SCPS Primarily utilizes the Inventory Control module in BarControl Enterprise Manager, in conjunction with the Requisitions module, the Order Management module including remote order entry, and the Shipping module. iBEM maintains the inventory levels on supplies – everything from janitorial supplies, office supplies, cafeteria supplies, student needs and text books; within the warehouse and forwards requisitions on supplies in need to SCPS’s PeopleSoft accounting system for purchasing.
Each of the individual schools and other facilities has remote access to iBEM for the purposes of ordering supplies from the central warehouse, while iBEM informs users and maintains maximum quantities per order based upon the school. The central warehouse has the capability to edit orders if required. The schools and facilities are grouped into districts for automatic scheduling by delivery day and routing by delivery stop. The warehouse is directed to pick and stage orders for proper loading based upon stops, as well as printing all order and packing documents.
